Ok cheers Micheal and thanks Pete.
If I don’t get too many by Friday evening I’ll probably postpone it and maybe do some fun stuff instead possible on Assetto.

If you fancy some fun racing in Assetto let me know. We are running the Alpha 155 Touring Car at Zandvort on Sunday so you are more than welcome to join in if you fancy it.

This Saturday I've just got a ton to get done. If it was a little bit later I might be able to guarantee my attendance.

I'm in. If people can't practice running close together at 230mph, the real races will be, let's say, interesting. Because you can't do it with the A.I.

This is a shame. Especially since the patch has improved the ffb (still not there yet, but much better) and many other issues. I'll be on testing, since you can run with A.I. now and not have a horror show.

Of course you can't. The A.I. are improved, but not like people. Then again, unless we practice ovals, it's going to look like the A.I. are with us. lol. So, time will tell. There is always NASCAR if people aren't into ovals. They are fun to watch but much harder than road racing.

To be honest mate looking at how few posts are on here and the numbers on my friends list not racing as well as the low volume of lobbies on both Project Cars 2 and Assetto I’m thinking with seen the top of online racing at least on Xbox. It seems shooters are having a come back.

Yes unfortunately it's very difficult getting the numbers these days for a decent series unless you already have a hard core of like minded drivers in the mix. But it is still possible and leagues are still around but starting your own and keeping it going is not easy and it's important to keep things running and people interested as much as possible. But it's certainly not helped by the fact that two of the games that should be right up there for league play were released in such a poor state and as a result confidence in them has been lost and drivers have looked elsewhere. It's very difficult to recover from that and get people back interested. Project Cars was just released way too early in my opinion and they should have waited until they had it properly tested. It was known there were fundamental problems before release so they've really shot themselves in the foot by still pushing it out.

Assetto is now just about where it should have been on release but it's taken them over a year to reach that point and the damage has been done but as we have shown with our Assetto Series over at RD if you can find some dedicated racers you can have immensely fun and competitive races. But I don't think it will ever reach the heights it should have and getting anything together with more than a fairly small group seems unlikely.

Project Cars needs this next patch to be a BIG hit and resolve as many of the problems as possible to try to get players back on board and the leagues back on track.

I did pick it up just before the discount expired on Monday night and i'll probably start giving it a run out once soon or maybe when patch 3 hits which hopefully won't be too long.

It's sites like this one that keep the flag flying for the console and hopefully enough will still return as things improve to have some fun racing going forward.

I do hope it gets better too, and the interest comes back. You just need a solid game plus interest, and the interest is there. My only worry is that people drift off to PC and next gen consoles before the game gets it right.

I may just run some club races at my home site until this can get worked out. Since you can run with A.I., I'll include them, unless many show up. The idea, like you mentioned before Rich, is to get me (and whoever else wants to experiment and compete) more familiar with the game's strengths and weaknesses, and at the same time learn how to run on an oval, with others, and maybe A.I. All makes of car, but probably not IndyCar to start.
