Tuning Project Cars 2

Post by DangerDave49 on Fri Sep 29, 2017 9:49 pm

On Forza I used to use an app called ForzaTune that would give me a good base tune that I could tweak based on tyre temperature profiles and rpms at the end of straits.

On pcars the tuning options may as well be in Egyptian Hieroglyphics, I have not got a clue.

I know there is an engineer option but this has not been helpful so far.
When I asked about my oversteer issue at Brands Hatch I was told that downforce would help, but that was not tunable.
I was told to try the suspension setting.
The Suspension engineer told me that a roll bar adjustment would help, but, that was not possible with this car.  Try Downforce! Lol.

So, The Engineer has failed me.  Suggestions?

Can Tuning setups be shared?
It was possible on Forza 4 but that was scrapped and was not available on Forza 5 or 6.

are you having problems with the Renault Clio by any chance. This is a very tricky car to drive/setup.

because it's FWD the rear tyres do not heat up well. Drop the tyre press by 10 all round.

the car also seems to have a lot of off throttle oversteer so you can partially combat this by increasing the preload on the differential.(200)

I'm no expert but reading thro the help texts in the setup screens has helped. I don't usually mess with springs and damping but on this occasion I did take 2 clicks off the soft bump F + R.

You will probably need to adjust the way you drive this car.

someone who knows how a car works may come along with a better suggestion.

I think you may be able to share tuning setups, but I dont know how...

Thanks. I had reduced the rear tyre pressure by 10 psi and that did help.

Can someone explain how you can get a tune from TT. Supposedly if there is a Tune Icon in TT than you can download it. But I can't figure out how that works. Knowing that driver preferences and TT settings are not ideal for Race conditions I was merely looking for ideas on baseline adjustments. So if anyone knows how you can "Share" a setup from TT I'd love to be enlightened.

Take a look at this post

It goes some way to explaining the issue

Hope it helps 😕
