Monte Carlo, Power Stage, DNF.

DSRL RC, Season 2 was a lot of fun. Learning to balance speed with safety. Looking forward to more. Thanks again, McDuff79 and DSRL!

All I can say is that "rallies can give you a lot of satisfaction, but they also don’t forgive – they can give you everything or nothing, can be ungrateful. This is characteristic for this sport, and maybe it’s the reason it is liked so much. I believe feeling in the car and my sensations are more important than the results. Without that there is really no point to start."

Thanks for the awesome experience folks!

Colin 'legend' McRae once said: you've got to find the balance. If you're too methodical, too fearful, you're not going to win. But the clever thing is to make the calculation correctly about where and when to go over the top. You've got to know when to push it and when to come back."

I had a nightmare at Monte Carlo! My first DNF was a mixture of frustration and cutting corners when I know I shouldn't. DiRT also crashed to dashboard twice during the rally and I had that annoying pink texture glitch too.

Stage 1 & 2: they were alright, took it very cautiously, so had no real dramas.
Stage 3: I lost my rear left wheel and my front left tyre. I shouldn't be trying to cut those corners Embarassed
Stage 4: ever so gently slid off a cliff face at a hairpin. DNF.

Now the season is over I also want to say that I've had fun with you guys. I didn't put in any practice and I mostly completed the rallies the night before they were due but it was still very enjoyable.

Looking forward to season 3?

Alas, you weren't mate, you received 1 point for third place on the power stage. Still a mighty achievment though! Very Happy
And Yes, as far as I am aware season 3 is coming. I just need to get the tables done for Monte and write the season closer. Then I will pass the torch on to toast who wil be running RC3 Wink

Well That's it folks! The DSRL RC2 closes with pretty much the closest finish I have seen yet in DSRL Rallying History! After 5 stages of Monte Carlo the top 3 finishers came home with only a quarter of a second between them.... A QUARTER OF A SECOND!!!! That also brought a last minute change in the championship with WaltCynt pipping his team mate NewQx for 3rd overall.

So Congrats to Epileptic Toast on another outright win and to RallyMan VW and WaltCynt for their podium spots.

Thank you everyone for slogging it out through the season. Hats off to those who competed in every event and a special thank you to those who actively used the powerstage opportunity to nab some extra points.

Oh and also, thanks to those of you who added some extra fun with race reports and updates. Nothing makes rallying more fun than getting in to the spirit of it and making it an event!

More Rallying is just around the corner as I hand the keys over to Toast for RC3 and go off to a forest to work on my driving skills a bit!

Again Thank you everyone! A community is nothing without its members.... See you in the loose stuff soon!

Thanks for a great season 2 everyone, really enjoyed that last rally especially. Cheers Mcduff and great job setting everything up this season Smile

More information and sign ups for the third season of the DSRL RC will be coming in the next few weeks after a short break.
We will continue with Dirt Rally for now as Dirt 4 is simply not cutting it as a rallying simulator yet, and also mainly because of the fact codemasters still haven't added the racenet leagues feature 2 months after the game's release!

Hope to see you all for DSRL RC S3!

I`d like to thank the organizing team and the marshals, great job.

During the short break I`ll be spending time at the Krash Meeke Rally School - "if in doubt give it a clout".

Thanks for taking part buddy! Apparently the teachers at the Meeke school of rallying take a sabbatical half way through each term :/
