Round 5: Rally Greece

Post by EpilepticToast on Fri May 19, 2017 8:51 am

Welcome all DSRL RC entrants to Acropolis Rally Greece, the fifth round of the championship.

To participate in round 5 and the last event of season 1 in Wales, you must have registered to and understand both of the following links:

Signup, info & rules HERE

The DSRL RC Racenet league HERE

Round 5 of the DSRL Rally Championship starts Friday May 19th at 5:00 am EST/ 10:00 am GMT. Stages 1-12 will be open for time submissions until May 26th at 6:00 pm EST/ 11:00 pm GMT.

This is the weather forecast for the weekend of May 19th that will be implemented into the conditions (when applicable) across the 12 stage rally:

sunny  sunny  sunny  sunny

Cool  Very Happy

Here is the stage layout/order and service area/checkpoint details for round 5:

Friday: stages 1-3
Saturday: stages 4-9
Sunday: stages 10-12

Also please remember:

-You must be part of the DSRL RC racenet league to participate in the championship rallies! If you have registered here but can't find the league in game,
Search "THE DSRL RC" on dirt leagues or follow: https://www.dirtgame.com/uk/leagues/league/66869/the-dsrl-rc to join.

-At each service point you can save to take a break and also make any adjustments to your car that might be required with the changing conditions.

-Please take a screenshot of your final time on the leaderboard when you have finished the event as it may be required for backup results if Racenet has any unforeseen downtime during the event.

-A 1 stage shakedown event for Rally Wales GB will follow the conclusion of event 1 in Greece.

If you have questions message DSRL Mcduff/ EpilepticToast or post below to discuss the rally.

Good luck to all entrants in 2WD and 4WD! Greece is very technical and unforgiving... Be careful where you choose to push!

Sorry to be the new guy asking silly questions...but just to clarify...only stages 1-3 are posted as of right now (Friday), with the following 6 available tomorrow and the final 3 on Sunday?

Hey man sorry for the confusion... the fri, sat, sun: stages is just to show how a simulated rally weekend is implemented into the 12 stage conditions in game. This doesn't have any effect on when you can actually enter the stages as a driver. They are all fully open for completion until next Friday Smile .

Doh!

I crashed out on SS2.

I had a high speed spin and just about held it but then slipped backwards into the trees and down the bank.

Retired again.

I wasn't quick (or talented) but I was able to complete the rally in two sittings. It was looking pretty bleak there for a while; in stage 3 I had a big accident and smashed up my headlights...ended up pretty much crawling to the finish.

Anyway, as I said I'm just happy I finished!

Had a great time! Looking forward to watching the results come in over the next few days.

Question for you toast.  What do you run your DOR on your wheel?  Do you run the full 900 deg or do you adjust down?  I have been having issue's in the last 2 rally's with steering. My wheel is calibrated, but it feels that the steering is not sharp or precise.

Hah, I finished. But only because I had so much radiator and engine damage I couldn't push hard enough to have "the big one". 34% Engine remaining to start the last 3 stages, kept getting my co driver telling me it was going to blow but somehow it didn't.

Hey man sorry for the delayed response. I run my TX with 3/4 green flashes on the mode light (bottom left of base). I think its 540 DOR in game but not certain on that one. It allows you to quick adjust if needed by holding the mode button down while pressing either left or right on the d-pad.

I managed to finish the rally in 1 go but made a quite a few stupid mistakes. Wasn't easy for sure but had a good run and happy to have finished. My teammate accidentally picked the Subaru instead of the Escort and retired himself on the start of stage 1 due to his mistake in not having the right car. Fortunately Wales is around the corner and looking forward to it.

Hi guys, sorry I just realized that my previous edit to the Rally Wales date in the info thread didn't save. It shows it as starting today, but it actually runs next Friday from the 2nd to the 9th of June, finishing up when Dirt 4 is due to release. Smile

The Rally Greece results will be updated ASAP. Unfortunately, Mcduff had to send his laptop in for urgent repairs so there's been a delay. They will be posted up once that gets fixed... hopefully in the next few days Smile
