And people thought PCars had a bad attitude to customers.Assetto is truly shocking. At this rate we will be ready to run PCars 2 series by the time the update comes out.

Cheers buddy.

It's really not looking great and if SMS get pCars 2 released on schedule and in decent shape then it might well be bye-bye for AC as a serious racing sim on Xbox. A real shame because I love the physics but it's just so lacking in too many important areas at the moment.

It really is a shame, I agree. It's proof that to be a viable SIM racer, you need a viable Multi-player, which I thought was self-evident. Kunos basically sold out. My belief is that they knew Assetto on console would be unsupportable (patch wise) because of their small size and the fact that they sold the company right after release. Something is rotten in Denmark. If it wasn't such a great hot-lapping game, I'd get a refund.

Agreed. It's a great tool for developing your driving skill, but not so much for gaining a competitive edge :/

About bloody time.
Been giving it and rag around with Lemarrr and Webbers88 this week absolutely love the Ferrari F138 and the challenge of the Porsche 962C (which I did a 2 hour AI race around Silverstone GP)

As for the game itself, ithe handling is epic with out of doubt but it's little things that get me.
The menus are not very intuitive and compared to the videos of the PC I've seen the set up screen is very basic Forza Horizon basic.
Also the control mapping is poor it took me and Lemarrr and 30mins between us to figure out what button did KERS and what did DRS as the control screen should all the buttons as doing it.
On the subject of DRS every game that's ever had it the cars always become skittish (which it should) but in Assetto I was able to make some really exaggerated steering movements with out the car losing grip.

I love the ffb in this game. I don't do much other than drive the track days at the Nurburgring -Tourist but I could do that all day.

Re: DSRL Assetto Corsa GT4 Euro Cup 2017

Post by DSRL McDuff on Mon Jul 10, 2017 11:02 am

Excellent! Just in time for my bloody TX deciding to have a complete fit and try and smash itself to bits! Thrustmaster have finally sent a returns slip but Ive got work to do so Ive bought a stand in to use whilst mine gets 'fixed'.... See, I don't feed my kids just so I can fulfil my role as Assetto service provider Razz Razz Razz

I wonder if v1.15 will come straight in on the back of it... be nice if they dished it out free to xbox'rs.... ha.

OK so our first port of call will be to have an admins testing event to suss out eligible cars, then for us to have a members track day where they can try out sed eligible cars and we can test lobby stability, ease of use etc etc.

After that I will open the entry submission page.

Currently I am planning on it being a single lobby championship as I think members interest will be limited. It also means I will be able to complete admin tasks a bit easier.

The championship is only 6 weeks long so I am proposing that anyone who registers then doesn't show up for a race meet gets excluded from the series, unless prior notification is given. Might seem harsh but I think encouragement needs to administered sometimes, hehe.

If by chance we do get more entries than seats then we can have a reserve list. One idea I have been mulling over is this. If you cant make a race or quali for personal reasons YOU can offer your seat to a reserve driver for the full event, and inform race control etc of the change in writing (post on the forum)

I would also like us to consider/ discuss forced pit stops on the non sprint races?

If you have any thoughts and ideas now is the time to speak up and help (hopefully) mould an excellent midweek race series!

Oh, one more thing.... If everything looks like its behaving, stable lobbies, clean races, 100% attendance etc, then THERE WILL BE PRIZES! Wink

You can count me in! There is no way i can miss this. Going to be awesome. I think a forced pitstop would make thing quite interesting.
Other than that I would glad to race it in any way you guys feel fit

Having looked at the prospectus I note that Beam streaming is mentioned but not Twitch. Is this something you don't allow? I always use Twitch and never used Beam as it seemed a bit flakey when I tried it out initially.

Hey hammer. No twitch is absolutely acceptable, just as long as we can ensure it doesn't cause instability in the game, like it did in some p cars lobbies. It could be that beam (or rather Mixer as it's known now) is also unstable. We can get everyone streaming in the test session and see how it holds up?

picked up AC last night while the big sale was on so definitely interested in this championship now I have the game. Haven't tried it yet though, hoping I can make most races if it all works out.

Right folks. Update 1.14 has indeed landed and it does give us private lobbies. HOWEVER! There is no weight applicator to help with BOP so as it stands, the only two GT4 cars that can race evenly are the Porsche Cayman Clubsport and the Maserati gt4.
We need to get an idea of who owns what, being that assetto is predominantly a DLC driven title. To put it bluntly, if the numbers aren't there we simply can't race gt4.
Roll call folks, what DLC do you have?

I have all the dlc's so I can get into any car. Tested the Lobbies a bit tonight and we had no lag or any issues even while broadcasting.

There was an MX5 with the update so everybody will have that.

I got the season pass in the sale so have everything.

There didn't appear to be any lag even when people were coming into and leaving the lobby during the racing.

That mx5 is a snail though. Had a play with a few options tonight. Will be knuckling down on a decision tonight.
