Round 3: Rally Finland

Post by EpilepticToast on Wed Apr 12, 2017 8:28 am

Welcome all DSRL RC entrants to the third round of the championship! Sorry for the unexpected lengthy break and recent schedule revision... thankfully we return to action very soon with Rally Finland starting this weekend!
To participate in round 3 and the remainder of season 1, you must have registered to and understand both of the following links:

Signup, info & rules HERE

"The DSRL RC" Racenet league HERE

Round 3 of the DSRL Rally Championship starts on Friday April 14th at 6:00 am EST/ 11:00 am GMT. Stages 1-12 will be open for time submissions until April 21st 6:30 pm EST/ 11:30 pm GMT.

This is the weather forecast for Jamsa, Finland on the weekend of April 14th that will be implemented into the conditions (when its applicable Very Happy ) across the 12 stage rally:

Friday: stages 1-3
Saturday: stages 4-9
Sunday: stages 10-12

Here is the stage layout/order and service area/checkpoint details for round 3:

Also please remember:

-You must be part of the DSRL RC racenet league to participate in the championship rallies! If you have registered here but can't find the league in game,
Search "THE DSRL RC" on dirt leagues or follow: https://www.dirtgame.com/uk/leagues/league/66869/the-dsrl-rc to join.

-At each service point you can save to take a break and also make any adjustments to your car that might be required with the changing conditions.

-Please take a screenshot of your final time on the leaderboard when you have finished the event as it may be required for backup results if Racenet has any unforeseen downtime for the final hours of the rally.

-A 1 stage shakedown event for Rally Germany will follow the conclusion of event 1 in Finland.

If you have questions message Mcduff79/ EpilepticToast or post below to discuss the rally.

Good luck to all entrants in 2WD and 4WD! Finland is very fast and very demanding on the car, be careful how you attack each stage!

What are the odds of anything unforseen happening?

Screenshot saved & sent to 'Toast.
I'd like to say that went better than sweden, but with multiple punctures & 3 wheels on my wagon at the end of ss9, it's technically a worse performance regarding car condition. That being said, i enjoyed it a whole lot more as everything i hit i could see (apart from the few spectators who gave their lives for the chance to stand in some stupid places on two stages!) While the trees weren't as forgiving as the snow banks at least they're consistent, & nursing the car home was quite satisfying come the finish

should be low now with the new shakedown system in place. This keeps the times up on racenet for a few days longer if there is any problems

Sent my screen grab to toast. I really wanted to finish under 60 minutes but I missed it by one second. Car was on its last legs and had no coolant crossing the line on the 12th stage. Left 4, crest, into right 5? Nope! More like left 4 crest into skinny immovable advert banner of car killing death lol. That's my fault though for listening to my co driver not once but TWICE in the last 3 stages lol. Oh well, in to the next one. Smile

nice one guys:D Racenet leagues was down the last 1 and a half days and is now back up so good to see you finish in time. If anyone was saved mid event be aware the game might make you restart the rally from the beginning after the racenet update.

IMPORTANT
Due to the significant downtime of Racenet leagues during the week while being updated, it has been decided that we will re run round 3: Rally Finland effective immediately. The re run starts again in two hours and is live for another week. We have recorded all times of finishers from the first run, if you have already completed the rally you of course don't have to do the re run but you are welcome to re try it if you choose to.
these are the current recorded finishing times:

Even if you Do Not Finish the re run your initial final time will still stand in the results if you are on the list above.
Sorry again for the inconveniences guys, this one was very out of the blue from Codies. Further schedule changes will follow shortly.

If I do rerun it and I'm slower, will my rerun be what's counted?

In fairness for those who already put in the time to finish the first run (the 9 on the list above) your best time from either run will be counted for the final results if you choose to re try the rally.

Hi everyone.

I just managed to start the rally with a few hours remaining.

I pushed too hard on SS1 and made lots of mistake, lost loads of time.
I then managed to make a few places back on the next few stages and all was going well until SS6, a puncture near the start of the stage, then a couple of bad crashes left me with two more punctures.

The car didn`t make it to to end of the stage so a retirement for me I`m afraid.

That's a shame mate, hopefully the next one goes better for you!

I've been away from this game too long. I also binned it in the last 50 feet of stage 1. The new Zelda game has consumed my life, I need to get back to Xbox racing.
