Halo or not so Halo

Post by DSRLReadingRich on Thu Mar 03, 2016 5:02 pm

Thought I'd bring it up since Kimi ran yesterday with it and Redbull have got there version to try.
Personally I'm not to keen, I don't think there much good for stopping any thing getting in and will cause just as much of a problem (as a jet canopy) for driver extraction if needed.
There also ugly as hell and have the possibility of being built to create more down force, after all there's a reason there wing shaped.

Just my thoughts be good to here what other think. I'm not against driver safety but I don't think this is the magic bullet motorsports think it is.

I personally don't like it. To me, this is not an open top single seater. The last two drivers to of lost their lives, Bianchi and Wilson, would not of been saved with these halos.

I have to agree. I also don't think it would have stopped Massa's incident either
