DSRL 200k GT Sports and Touring Car Championship

Welcome to the DSRL 200k GT Sports and Touring Car Championship!

The second running of the DSRL 200k series takes a different approach with the GT3 spec GT cars being promoted as the top class and the introduction of Touring cars.

The 2 classes will all run together in the 10 round championship and with the difference in speeds it will be a test of drivers consistency and mental ability to run their own race as fast as possible.

There will be 2 championships up for grabs for each and every driver with a class championship and an overall championship. Points scored by each driver in their respective class will be added to their class points total and the overall championship which includes all drivers from the 2 classes. This means that someone who wins every race in the bottom class, could win the overall championship.

Race format

All weather is set to real weather based on conditions in real life, late evening or dusk time races will be determined by the particular
track. These conditions will apply for all sessions.

Qualifying

20 mins
Competitors will be take part in a 20 minute qualifying session to determine their grid position. There will be 3 qualifying sessions, 1 for each competing class. The session will be set to 30 minutes by the lobby host so to allow all competitors a full 20 minutes of running. When the session timer reaches 20 minutes, any competitors on a 'timed' lap will be allowed to complete their lap and then must return to the garage. The lobby host will then take a screenshot of all times. Competitiors will then by allowed to return to the track for the remainer of the game session.

Race

200 km
Each race will be set to a number of laps that will be as close to or equal to 200 kilometres, with the exception of the final round which will be 300 kilometres in length. All 3 classes will be divided after qualifying and seeded into lobby A, B, C etc. There will be a 1 lap formation start before the start of the race. A rolling grid will start the race with the GT class lining up first, followed by the TC class and finally the Cup class.

ABS and TCS are permitted

Registration

Competitiors are required to register for the championship prior to entering a race. Competitiors will be running on their own and therefore there will be no teams championship. Competitors are required to choose their car and class. Once each competitor has competed in one race they will not be permitted to change classes for the rest of the championship.  Register here.

There are an initial limit of 10 cars in each class. Competitors are therefore encouraged to consider all classes before registering. If all the classes reach their number limit, the organisers will consider opening up further spaces.
Competitors are requested to view the current entry list before picking their car and livery number as to avoid clashing with another driver.  Once the livery is picked, a competitor is required to use that livery for all remaining races.

Points
There will be 2 championships to compete for in the DSRL 200k GT Sport and Touring Car Championship: Class and Overall.
The points will be awarded according to class finishing position on the following basis:

1st - 35
2nd - 32
3rd - 30
4th - 28
5th - 26
6th - 25

Points will reduce by 1 point by all following positions until 30th place. All remaining finishers will receive 1 point and be placed based on best finishing place.

There will be 2 dropped races from this championship for drivers, making your best 8 scores count towards the championship.
Points scored in each competitors race will be carried to both their class championship and the overall championship. This potentially provides the possibility of a competitor of a lower class winning the overall championship if they win 8 or more class wins.

Problems & Penalties
Incidents & corner cutting

Report incidents and/or corner cutting or overly defensive swerving/blocking immediately after the race to the Mods.

SAVE THE REPLAY! Or RECORD THE CLIP. We may not be able to see the incident from our perspective.

We are concerned that people during practice sessions are cutting corners too much. Regardless of what other series do, if you see someone outside the whitelines, tell them there and then. Anyone found
doing this repeatedly/deliberately will be penalised, either in points or by exclusion from the ongoing championship.

DO NOT hesitate about reporting, it will be confidential and will make the racing here cleaner, therefore better and more fun! We may need you to make and upload a clip.

It's the responsibility of the person overtaking to ensure they make a clean pass! If you do hit someone (we appreciate accidents do happen!), make sure you give them the spot back.

If you feel that you were a victim of unsportsmanlike behaviour or intentionally taken of the track. Please present footage of the incident in question to the organisers within 72 hours of the end of the event. Any inquiries will be, at best, closed and penalties applied before the next event.

Connection issues

Driver loses his connection to the lobby?
At the start of the next heat he will start from the back.
In case of multiple DNF's or DNS's this is sorted by the host (faster driver starts at the back).

Please make sure your connection is fine and your ports are forwarded (even if your connection acts fine).
Try www.speedtest.net, your ping is the most important (lower=better, generally below 50ms).

Broadcasting

We request that there will be no broadcasting through Twitch. This is to aid the quality of lobby connections

If you want to practice with it, yes. If not then you can turn up on the night and there is a way of getting you into the BMW.

The BMW is a brilliant car to drive. I'm only going in the clio to spread the numbers out a bit. It's a bit of a handfull without a little tuning but it's good fun.

At the top of the registration page it says how many are in each class. At the moment it's capped at 10 per class.
